I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

My Pop Art series exploit the banal and cliche subjects as fertile medium to reach emotional mindfulness. By multiplying identical subjects such as a fruit, animal or famous place, I intend to subdue mind stimulants that set off active thinking. The time frozen banality is a prerequisite to reverse the direction of observation, in that the artwork (usually the subject) now functions as mirror to help you become the subject of observation as a medium to explore your own inner feelings.
I recommend the following to get the most of my Pop Art: Stay in now and try to visually focus on one specific point for example on any color borders, and then mentally zone out by defocusing your vision to gradually reach a state of gazed mesmerisation. Remember to allow the eyes to undertake the observations for the brain, not the other way around. Shift your gaze throughout the illustrated objects while allowing the mind to blend the colors. CURRENT WORK. My more recent work in part is a journey through Color Field stripes. As far back as 1950s stripes have been a recognized and powerful element of choice by abstract expressionist artists such as Barnett Newman, Bridget Riley, Jack Bush, Gene Davis, Kenneth Noland. By way of digression, my stripe series build on the works of earlier Color Field painters by introducing a minimalist subject. The subject, usually a reference to nature, not only lightens up the intellectual weight for contemporary viewer, it also introduces movement and depth to the composition.
